Where can I get my flu shot?

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department recommends flu shots for those wishing to stay healthy this fall and winter.

The health department is now offering flu shots at the Public Health Clinic North, 805A Newtown Circle. No appointment is necessary. Flu shots cost $25, and Medicaid, Medicare B, cash, checks, credit cards and some insurances are accepted.

The Public Health Clinic North is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday; and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.

The health department provided 5,526 flu vaccinations throughout the season.

Flu shots remain available as number of confirmed cases rises to 30

With Kentucky heading into flu season’s peak, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department continues to provide flu shots to help people keep from getting sick.

Lexington now has 30 confirmed cases of the flu, which traditionally hits its peak in January/February in Kentucky. Of those cases, 23 have been in children.

“If you haven’t had your flu shot yet, there are still plenty of opportunities to get one,” said LFCHD spokesman Kevin Hall. “Flu shots are the best way to avoid getting the flu, and that helps protect you and every member of your family.”
