Latest flu update for #LexKy


So far, we've had 339 confirmed cases of the flu in Lexington-Fayette County as the 2012-13 flu season is winding down. Flu shots are still available 3-5 p.m. Tuesdays, at Public Health Clinic North, 805A Newtown Circle.

Keep in mind that these are the best things you can do to make sure you are ready to fight the flu:

Get vaccinated.
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough or sneeze.
Stay at home if you're sick.

Health department provides 1,669 shots on Free Flu Friday

There might be less coughing, body aches and fevers this fall and winter thanks to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.


LFCHD employees gave 1,669 free flu shots Oct. 12 as part of its annual Free Flu Friday event, which provides the community with vaccinations while allowing the department to test its emergency preparedness. This year’s Free Flu Friday was held at Imani Family Life Center. More >.
